The Begining
Today I finished the set up for my aquaponic system in my studio. I have set up 3 individual tanks that each have a beta fish, a heater, an air stone and a styrofoam board containing 4 net pots packed with coconut coir. Each tank is situated below a 60 watt plant light that is currently on a timer for 7 hours each day from 10AM to 5PM.
Each tank is growing 4-5 different types of plants and the types of plants are divided into medicinal, vegetables and ornamental. In the first tank, the medicinal one, I planted sage, two types of salvia, calendula and lavender. In the following tank I planted two different types of kale, arugula and peas. In the last tank, the ornamental one, I planted foxglove, snapdragon, sweet peas and scabiosa.
I'll be posting all progress from here on out. I am also going to be planting the same seeds in seed pods hopefully tomorrow to compare the progress.
